The secretariat is guided in its activities by the National Governing Council (NGC), a nine-member body elected at the MISA-Zambia annual general meeting.
The NGC provides policy direction to the secretariat. The present members of the NGC are:

The NGC has scheduled quarterly meetings. However, NGC members may be required to sit more than once per quarter depending on the urgency of the matter. Further information on the organisation and structure of MISA-Zambia are in the Constitution.
