resources: publications
There is a paucity of books on and about journalism in Zambia. Taking this into account, MISA Zambia has over the years published various books covering different aspects of the media. The publications are meant to be used by media practitioners, students of journalism and the general public. Among the publications currently on sale are:
An Issue-based Journalism Handbook- It gives readers an insight into what issue-based journalism is and should be in the context of the Zambian media- By Edem Djokotoe
Newspapers and Magazines in Zambia – Discusses the viability or sustainability of private newspapers and magazines in Zambia (considering that many private papers have come and gone off the scene) – By Fackson Banda.
The Sate of The Media in Zambia – Tells a story of the state of the media in Zambia from colonial period, through independence, to the second and third republics. By Kennedy Makungu.
Handbook of Media Laws in Zambia – By Dr. Alfred Chanda and Mufalo Liswaniso.
