resources: press resource centre

Established in August 1998 and officially opened by former MISA Regional Director Jeanette Minnie in December the same year, the resource centre offers journalists, journalism students and members of the public, access to modern computers for word processing, Web browsing, e-mail access and scanning, as well as access to phone, fax and photocopying services among others. In addition, there is a television set for monitoring news and other information at home and abroad.

The Resource Centre has seen the birth of a number of newspapers since it was established. Among them are The People, The Star, Zambian Tourism Review, Financial Times, The Today, The Advocate and The Watchdog.

In 2005, the Resource Centre received a consignment of excellent, modern books on journalism and related subjects which were donated by the American Embassy in Lusaka through the Public Affairs Section. The books are available to readers for reference purposes only to users.
