MISA Zambia has been in existence since September 1996 when a full-time secretariat was established in Lusaka. The core staff comprise:

The secretariat is guided in its activities by the National Governing Council (NGC), a nine-member body elected at the MISA Zambia's annual general meeting. The NGC provides policy direction to the secretariat.
