activities: training

Though MISA Zambia is not a training institution, it is cognisant of the fact that the country’s independent media is relatively young. Apart from the National Mirror, which was established in 1972, most of the other independent newspapers and radio stations only emerged in 1991. Most of the staff in the independent media tend to be relatively young in professional experience as well as age. In order to strengthen their capacity, MISA Zambia has initiated various training workshops over the years. Among the workshops held are:

Rights of Journalists (1996), Elections Coverage (1996), Untrained Radio Icengelo Saff (1997), Investigative Reporting (1997), Circulation Management (1997), Advocacy for Parliamentarians, NGOs and Journalists (1997), Circulation Management (1998), Media Management (1998), Investigative Journalism (1998), Media Management (1998), Untrained journalists (1998), Basic Internet Use (1999), Media Law Reform (1999), Broadcasting Advocacy (1999).
